Liz Taylor

Liz is writing for Hollyoaks, having 9 episodes of Doctors commissioned before the series was axed. She has just been awarded a Writers' Residency at Theatr Clywd. Liz was shortlisted for the TV Foundation in association with the Edinburgh TV Festival 2021 New Voice Awards for her first episode. She is in the process of developing a television series, The One, and working on a number of other drama projects.

Passionate about TV drama, Liz has attended workshops for Emmerdale, Coronation Street (also storylining for the show). She recently worked with Manchester animation company, Kilogramme to help develop and write a pilot episode, Maisie, which has made it through to the Stage 32 New Voices in Animation Finals 2021.

Liz has reached the shortlists of the Northern Writers Awards twice, the Screenwriting Goldmine Awards, the Edinburgh TV Festival All3Media New Voices Award, and the BBC Writersroom BBC Children's Competition.

In theatre, Liz's first play, Half Return ran as part of the Royal Court Young Writers' Festival, going on to be published twice. She also represented UK at the first International Young Writers' Festival in Sydney. Her script, A Tribute to Marcie Lane is part of Philip Shelley's audio drama podcast.

Liz also works as a freelance PR consultant.
