Tom Higgins
Tom, with his co-writer, Kevin Erlis, has three drama series in development with Bandit Television. He has been writing on the team for Death in Paradise, spanning Series 4, 5 and 7, also contributing to EastEnders and Casualty.
Joining the Shameless team for Series 6, Tom became Co-Producer and Lead Writer for Series 7 & 8 - receiving an RTS Nomination for Best Script Writer. Prior to that he had been invited to join The Bill and was part of their BAFTA and RTS Award-winning team; he also wrote for London's Burning and Family Affairs.
Other commissions include writing the biopic Dave Allen: For One Night Only for BBC4/Angel Eye Media, and writing the Pilot episode of Breaking Glass for Red Productions. Tom was also part of the Duchess Street Productions' Writers' Room for The Clifton Chronicles, adapting Jeffrey Archer's series of books for TV. His first TV commission was for ITV's Bad Girls, then going on to join the writing team for Brookside and C4/Carnival Films' ground-breaking, BAFTA-winning series As If - in both UK and US formats.
