Richard is currently one of the top contributors to Hollyoaks (C4) having received over 300 commissions, including five for the hour-long, late night episodes Hollyoaks Later. He also scripted Indecent Behaviour, a 90-minute Hollyoaks spin-off that was released on DVD.

Richard's other series and serial drama credits include Grange Hill (BBC), Brookside (C4), and C4's first Daytime serial The Courtroom.

Richard started his writing career after graduating from The Northern Film School and being taken on the script team of Family Affairs (FIVE).
