
Bernard Padden
A regular writer for Doctors (BBC1), Bernard has had four pilot comedy sitcoms optioned and a television film, The Chairman's Report optioned by Essential Films. He has also completed a children's science fiction novel, Cassie Kelly on the Run.
As a finalist in the prestigious Red Planet Prize 2012, Bernard thereafter spent a year developing projects with Kudos Film & Television.
Bernard's writing career started when he wrote and performed a one-man show at The New End Theatre, Hampstead, from which Channel4 commissioned a ten-minute adult cartoon, Binky and Boo. Bernard went on to become a winner of the North West Playwright Competition with his first play Tactics after Sex and the following year won the London New Festival with his second play, Normality.
Bernard is a tutor at Staffordshire University for film, tv and radio scripts, and has considerable expertise mentoring new writers.
